Tom Harvey’s unique background and experience bring a fresh perspective to the legal field. As a Wilmington native and Laney High School graduate, he has deep roots in the community and a passion for serving its people. Tom’s diverse experiences, from managing the prestigious Maidstone Club in East Hampton, NY, to studying international law at Sidney Sussex College in Cambridge, England, have equipped him with a breadth of knowledge and a worldly perspective.

Tom attended law school at Campbell University’s Norman Adrian Wiggins School of Law in Raleigh, NC. During his time there, he honed his legal skills by working with the United States Air Force Judge Advocate General’s office, competing in the national negotiations team championships, and interning for both the Town of Cary and the Johnston County District Attorney’s office. These experiences allowed Tom to understand the law and how it affects individuals and communities.

Since joining Shipman and Wright, Tom has handled complex litigation matters in both state and federal court, as well as the office of administrative hearings and business court. He has represented clients in cases relating to breach of contract claims, complex real estate and business litigation, personal injury matters, and commercial landlord-tenant matters. Tom also plays a key role in our mass tort practice using his connections to the area as well as time with the JAG to help clients navigate the complexity of claims relating to the Camp Lejeune Justice Act.
